On June 1st 2004, AQUATOTS Franchise was one year old! We celebrate with 14 Franchises listed in the first year! Of the 14 franchises, 11 were originally registered AQUATOTS Swim Schools. The other 3 are newcomers to AQUATOTS. With 27 instructors in all, 10 who are newly trained, it is highly likely that there will be an AQUATOTS Franchise not far from where you live. You can call AQUATOTS CENTRAL OFFICE for the contact details of the franchise that is most conveniently situated in relation to the area where you live.

A national move to safeguard infant swimming has been undertaken by Swimming South Africa with the introduction of the Todswim SA swim instructor training programme. The time had come for Swimming South Africa to take an effective position in the control and standardisation of infant swim teaching. With Todswim SA, Swimming South Africa offers guidelines that minimize the dangers surrounding aquatic activity for the very young. Teaching methods that do not conform to these guidelines cannot be accredited by Swimming South Africa. Until recently there was no major aquatic body in the country that took responsibility of issuing policy statements or guiding parents as to acceptable and unacceptable practices in infant swimming. Parents can now look to Swimming South Africa (SSA) for such guidelines. The SSA Todswim guidelines are in line with the recommendations of the American Academy of Paediatricians Policy Statement 2000. Todswim SA is a spin off of AQUATOTS Swim Program the internationally renowned method of teaching infants swimming skills. Nell White, founder-director of AQUATOTS Swim Program, and author of Todswim SA, Swimming South Africa's national accreditation course for toddler swim teaching, advises parents to contact Swimming South Africa at (011) 404-2480 in relation to infant swim teaching, or 0861 100 456 for an accredited swim teacher in their area. |
