Lis's Swim School, in the heart of Johannesburg Northern Suburbs, has served as a registered AQUATOTS Swim Program centre since 1993. Established in 1974 for summer teaching, it has become the largest all season swim teaching facility in the area. Two enclosed pools set in a lush garden are inviting to even the most trepid of young learners. At peak season more than 250 infants master swimming ability the AQUATOTS way in the smaller 5.5 x 5.5 metre pool with its unique ambience, while over 300 older learn-to-swim pupils are taught in the larger 6 x 14 metre pool.
As a former Denmark Olympic Swimmer, Lis is well equipped to offer swim lessons for adults, style correction, squad training, and aqua aerobics beside AQUATOTS. Her team of instructors, which includes her daughter and her son, are fully qualified and well versed in their respective field of aquatics. Originally qualified as a remedial teacher, Lis excels in patience and is deeply committed to keeping abreast of developments in her field. If you were to ask Lis why she included an AQUATOTS Franchise in her swim school curriculum she would tell you that it is because of the ongoing training and support she receives as a Franchisee.
Administration, supervision of the instructors and the general daily running of the swim school is successfully done by Lis' daughter, Karin Mc Donald. Karin, herself a qualified AQUATOTS instructor, continues in the proud tradition of Lis' Swim School where the message is 'WE WELCOME ALL – BIG AND SMALL.
'In 2004, Lis was awarded for her "Generous Contribution to the Development of AQUATOTS Swim Program" at the national Annual AQUATOTS Franchise Anniversary Meeting.
