Andrea Wood operates AQUATOTS Bedfordview at the original of the three ‘Little Fishes’ swim schools. When she qualified as an AQUATOTS instructor in 2002, Andrea already had years of teaching experience, having been tutored by her mother, Cathy Wood, who has been with AQUATOTS since 1991.
The original Little Fishes dates back to 1979 when her mother set up a swim school using the garden pool at their family residence in Bedfordview. The success of the business was such that by 1992 the pool had been enclosed by her father, Vincent Wood, and the family had established what was to be the first of the three Little Fishes Swim Schools operating in and around Johannesburg today.
The revamped 4 x 11 metre pool with its snug indoor ambience, and water temperature of 32°C, allows for unbroken swimming lessons throughout the year. This is ideal for infant swimming.
With Andrea as a model AQUATOTS instructor, AQUATOTS Bedfordview has also proved ideal as a training centre for new AQUATOTS franchisees and their instructors. As such, it provides a congenial setting for AQUATOTS Swim Program Central Office.
